Today I decided to rock a Monochrome outfit, largest inspired by my faaancy Rue Cat Marc Jacobs Smoking Slippers/ Loafers.
I teamed an old fave – a while Sass & Bide silk tee with asymmetrical hem, (I buy these in every colour they make!!!) quilted pleather skirt from Forever 21 and of course, the MJ smoking slippers/loafers with super comfy quilted innersole.

Net-A-Porter are having a serious sale, and you won’t wanna miss it.
Traditionally, I’ve always been turned off by the exxy nature of Net-A-Porter. The prices were always in pounds, which then converted to an astronomical Aussie dollar which mad me very sad by the end of my browsing experience.

2. The Super-Cool Shades
You’ll be wearing these all day to visit shops, beaches and restaurants, so you will want a pair of funky sunnies to top off your look. I lusted after a Celine pair for ages – only to discover they were too big for my face. DAMN! Yes, great news that my head is small, bad news that i’ll have to go back to the drawing board to find another pair I love as much as my Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses that are tired, word and ready to retire. These KW frames are awesome…but they will probably fit your face and not mine! (sob)

3. The Summery Sandals
The perfect summer shoe hinges largely (for me, anyway) it’s wear-ability with my entire summer wardrobe. I just don’t think you can go past a tan, orange or turquoise shoe when planning what to pack for your beach getaway. A good-quality leather, flat sandal can take you from day to night, and will save some valuable space in your suitcase – no need for other shoes! I love these Indie sandals, so comfy and still, so stylish!

Burberry has always been known for it’s iconic check print.
Usually it’s met with divided responses – some think it’s an upmarket, beautifully Brit brand, others stand firm on it’s place in Chav society.
Whether you like it or not, open your mind and check out the new heart print they’ve bought out this year….I for one, LOVE it.

I’m calling it now, and suggesting Heart Print is going to be a big trend in the months to come. When researching, I saw a lot of UK and international sites are stocking apparel with the print, but it hasn’t quite come over the seas just yet for us Aussie shoppers.

It can be a risky venture, your prized item can sell out, or on the flip side, you could score it for an even bigger bargs if you pay the waiting game. Comparing the online sale to the in store stock is always tricky too, and usually not as good as the tactile sale experience in most department stores, but DJ’s have really stepped it up! When I started this blog I hoped to share my insights about fashion and how to look good without spending a fortune on an outfit.
I guess bargain hunting must run through my veins because my savvy shopping extends much more than clothes, shoes and bags – I also like to shop around for life’s necessities.
For example – glasses!
I used to be the kid in the back row at school squinting at the board.
Then I was that same kid in the middle row.
But it was only when I sat front and centre and still couldn’t see the board I knew it was time to accept my fate and go get a pair of dreaded specs!
Ohhhkay. This is just getting ridiculous now…
Glasses today don’t carry the (a)stigma (geddit?!) as they used to. Nerd can be chic…and when investing in your glasses you can afford to choose something a little special.
Setting out to find good quality yet inexpensive frames proved quite easy when I went online to visit Clearly Contacts (www.clearlycontacts.com.au)

Frames are sooooo reasonable and the range is pretty impressive…Literally HUNDREDS of frame jump out at you.
Start your search by frame, designer, style or material…helpful for those fashion conscious or those looking for a particular shape.
Still unsure of what suits you? Upload a picture of yourself to virtually try on frames or you can wing it like I did.
If you know your prescription you can punch it in, or simply head out for an eye test – they are bulk billed. Once you’ve got the numbers you can fill in the details into the form. It’s super easy, and if you are having a trouble a customer service rep is on hand ready to answer your enquiry.
Maybe this isn’t the sight (oh wow I’m full of the bad puns today!) you want if getting glasses is a maiden voyage, but for old professionals like myself it was a walk in the park.
Clearly Contacts stock contacts too, (duh!) and the glasses dept. features brands such as Gucci, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Lacoste.
